How to run this check
Speak normally, then pause in a quiet room. Choose the correct input if the meter stays still.
Understand the result
PASS describes a received signal or your recorded observation. WARNING calls for another check. USER REVIEW REQUIRED means a measurement alone cannot decide. An unavailable API or denied permission does not establish hardware failure.
What this cannot tell you
Digital amplitude describes the browser signal, not calibrated sound pressure. Processing and input gain affect it.
If something seems wrong
Check the hardware mute switch, select another input, and review microphone permissions.

Is anything uploaded?
Raw diagnostic input and media are processed locally. Results remain in this page’s memory until you download a report or leave. Hosting requests still reach the site host. See the privacy policy.
Does a pass guarantee my hardware is healthy?
No. It records behavior observed in this browser session. Intermittent faults, internal components and operating-system restrictions need further investigation. See our methodology.
